Nina Cassada, PH.D., LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor providing outpatient therapy to clients located in Virginia, Texas, and Georgia. She serves as an adjunct faculty to Southern New Hampshire University and The University of Maine at Augusta in the human services departments. Dr. Cassada uses Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques in the treatment of adolescents and adults.
She has a background in trauma informed therapy. Additionally, she has advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) coupled with Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to assist individuals healing from traumatic experiences. Dr. Cassada has a focused practice addressing: treating mood disorders, anxiety, substance use disorders, childhood behavioral disorders, and adjustment to life stressors.
Dr. Cassada has worked in community mental health, residential treatment centers, and private practice settings. She managed school-based mental health programs and provided leadership as the former director of a private agency in Lynchburg, Virginia. Her background includes supervising post-graduate residents pursuing licensure in Virginia. Dr. Cassada currently works as a telehealth therapist treating children, adolescents, adults, and families. She is licensed in Virginia, Georgia, and Texas.
